ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROJECT

Project 1a - PRE-DESIGN STUDIES

We are required to further develop the proposed design project given by studio coordinator that reflects the theme and finalize a programme that addresses the needs of the required user group, as well as provides spaces that invite interaction with the surrounding contextual conditions. In addition to the theme of sustaining humanities, the module focuses on the development of students’ ability to integrate considerations of technology, environment and cultural context in architectural design and offers a platform for students to develop our own position in developing our individual project. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, we are required to do an in-depth and comprehensive analysis and presentation on the intangible and intangible aspects of the site, hence look into the possibilities of aligning these findings in developing the main programme: ‘A Collaborative Working Community in the Heart of KL’.

Project 1b - DESIGN BRIEF AND STRATEGY PROPOSAL

We are required to develop a design brief which will inform and set the design parameters for the design so we're required to develop a design strategy (to the level of explorative design phase) for our own proposed project.

Project 1c - FINAL DETAILED DESIGN + FINAL DESIGN REPORT

Based on our proposed sketch design, consider and include expanded aspects of design development in tandem with the design of spaces, e.g. regulatory requirements, fire safety, materials, construction, sustainability, feasibility and other relevant considerations, wherever possible, integrating our development to produce a richer, more multi-layered design and develop a selected portion of our design for technological development and resolution to integrate environmental strategies into our design that incorporate Malaysian or regional qualities or consideration in design

FINALIZED DESIGN PROPOSAL

Project 1c - COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN REPORT

After design phase, we're required to produce a set of report regarding our own design.
